I’m going to do a series of posts in this theme of little hidden treasures. There are so many places I love to visit but are hidden away so most people don’t know they are there!
This first post is about what formerly was Garden Street Bazaar, an amazing treasure trove full of trinkets, vintage clothing and fabric. Unfortunately there was a fire in the building recently and a lot of the stock was destroyed. They have set up a temporary premises at 1555 Pittwater Road, North Narrabeen to sell anything that was salvaged. I stopped by today and picked up some very lovely little things..
This stunning 1920’s turquoise saucer with gilded 18k gold detail
A little teacup with lovely floral detail. I love storing my jewelery in tea cups! (potentially a little weird..?)
A little plate again with some gold & floral details.
Because they are trying to get rid of alot of stock these little goodies were just $5 each. Lots of amazing bargains to be had!
I’ve previously bought some fantastic vintage pieces from them which have unfortunately been mostly destroyed but I found some older pictures from there facebook page I thought I’d share, I used to drive past the shop and seeing these stunning clothes out the front was a good start to the day!
If you are around the northern beaches do go stop by, they are open in that pittwater road location Tuesday-Sunday for another few weeks and are adding new stock. All my best to the owners while they have to unfortunately start again.
Have you got any hidden treasures around Sydney? I’d love you to share so I can have a look!
