You never know what you might find…

1 Jul

I’m going to do a series of posts in this theme of little hidden treasures. There are so many places I love to visit but are hidden away so most people don’t know they are there!

This first post is about what formerly was Garden Street Bazaar, an amazing treasure trove full of trinkets, vintage clothing and fabric. Unfortunately there was a fire in the building recently and a lot of the stock was destroyed. They have set up a temporary premises at 1555 Pittwater Road, North Narrabeen to sell anything that was salvaged. I stopped by today and picked up some very lovely little things..

This stunning 1920’s turquoise saucer with gilded 18k gold detail

A little teacup with lovely floral detail. I love storing my jewelery in tea cups! (potentially a little weird..?)

A little plate again with some gold & floral details.

Because they are trying to get rid of alot of stock these little goodies were just $5 each. Lots of amazing bargains to be had!

I’ve previously bought some fantastic vintage pieces from them which have unfortunately been mostly destroyed but I found some older pictures from there facebook page I thought I’d share, I used to drive past the shop and seeing these stunning clothes out the front was a good start to the day!

If you are around the northern beaches do go stop by, they are open in that pittwater road location Tuesday-Sunday for another few weeks and are adding new stock. All my best to the owners while they have to unfortunately start again.

Have you got any hidden treasures around Sydney? I’d love you to share so I can have a look!

Lust Have It… June Edition

18 Jun

A nice Monday morning surprise when my Lust Have It box arrived out of the blue! They have scrapped their postal tracking system as it kept causing problems so that is why it ended up being such a surprise!

So what was in the box…

Batiste Blush Dry Shampoo

An oldie but a goodie, I think everyone has had a try of this and it is a favourite of mine. The blush scent smells pretty amazing and I was low on my previous bottle – a really handy travel size too at 50ml

RRP 9.95 for 150ml

Bloom Liquid Eyeliner in Star Gazer

Apologies for these pretty terrible pictures but my camera didn’t want to cooperate today! This is a pretty exciting addition to the June box, and I know alot of people much prefer receiving makeup items! I can’t wait to test this out, it has a very thing brush applicator so let’s see how we do!

RRP 14.95 (Full size product)

LonVitalite 24K Active Golden Yulan Oil Facial Mask

I really love these clothe face masks so I look forward to trying this out, especially around exam time when you need a little bit of me time.I have seen this brand before but never tried it.. will let you know how I go!

RRP $59 5 pack

LonVitalite 24K Active Gold Eye Mask

Another product from this brand which is nice but limits the variety of the box a little bit, would maybe of been nice to see this in next months? Look forward to trying it none te less!

RRP $45 5 Pack

Marc Jacobs “Daisy” and “Daisy Eau So Fresh”

Two little perfume samples, I’ve been soo tempted to by Daisy Eau So Fresh lately and I think this may of helped me make up my mind! The problem is I have three different bottles of daisy at the moment.. so potentially a tad excessive?

RRP Eau So Fresh 115/75ml Daisy 90/50ml

I think there are going to be a few different versions of the pack this month so I look forward to seeing what everyone else got!! What was your favourite product this month?

Lust Have It! February

8 Feb

Lust Have It! Took all of January off (jealous) so there was a bit of anticipation leading up to the January box, and while they did announce one product the rest was a complete surprise for me this time! So was the wait worth it…?

This is what was in the box:

Lancome Juicy Tubes

Who doesn’t love Juicy Tubes? A little expensive but they really are one of the longest lasting lipglosses out there. I was excited to hear that these would be in the boxes as it was the only product they announced. Perfect for valentines day!

RRP $46.00 for 15g  but Big W has a 3 pack of  15g Juicy tubes for $45! I didn’t even know they sold Lancome – have a look here

Davroe Tame Lemongrass Detangler

Don’t Detanglers just bring you back to your childhood? I don’t know how my hair was always so knotted up when I was a child.. Anyways this is certainly an adult version with a lovely lemongrass scent. Davroe is a new brand to me but I like this product so might have to have a look at some of their other offerings

RRP 21.50 for 315ml

Sasy n Savy Rose Lavender Hand n Nail Repair Creme

Everything in this box smells soo good and this is no exception! This is a nice moisturiser, again from a brand I haven’t tried before so look forward to testing it out!

RRP $25 for 100ml

Lush Sugar Scrub

Another yummy product, I’m excited to see that Lush has been included again in the LHI box as they had the honey I washed the kids soap a while ago which was also fantastic. Can’t wait to use this one and smells deliciouss

RRP 6.50 100g

Taut Collagen infusion mask

Taut products have been included in the box before, the first one I received I got some form of collagen drink.. I actually didn’t drink it because it freaked me out a little bit (is that weird..) but I have heard some good things about this mask and I can’t wait to put it on and look like an alien for a little while

RRP 44.95 pk/5

Did you love this months LHI box? Worth the wait?

January Bella Box

16 Jan

Yay! My Bella Box was waiting for me when I got home and it had 8 samples in it! Some of them are single use sachets though which aren’t the best for really getting a feel for a product, put fun to try none the less.

The theme for the box this month was “Out with the old, In with the New Naturals”

Pangea Organics Lip Balm

ANOTHER lip balm! I’m thinking I may need to take back the time I said you can never have too many, because I think I’ve almost reached that point. This is an interesting one though from a brand I’ve never tried before. It smells yummy it’s “Egyption Fennel with Grapefruit & Sweet Orange”. It is actually a fair bit bigger than normal lipbalms at 7g instead of 5g so I should be able to get a lot of use out of this!

RRP 17.95

Sparoma Organic Roll-On Pulse Point Aroma

This is a little roll on with a lemon myrtle scent that does smell delicious. I’m not sure how often I will use it because I have a lot of perfumes and it really is a strong scent. It’s called “rejuvenate” so I may use if i need a pick me up!

RRP 19.95

J.Del Pozo “Halloween Kiss” and “Halloween Kiss Sexy” EDT

These are perfumes I haven’t tried before, but right now all I can smell is the Lemon Myrtle from the previous product and I can’t even work out what these smell like! If I like them, I’ll let you know!

RRP $59 for 100ml

Violent Lips

SO FUN! I have no idea when I will actually use this but I look forward to when I do 😛 Have heard a lot about Violent Lips so will be great to try.

RRP 14.95 pk/3

First Aid Beauty – Ultra Repair Cream

Again another brand I’ve yet to try. This is supposed to be great for sensitive skin and I’ve heard good reviews about how rich and moisturising the formula is.

RRP 14.96 for 70gm

Herban Essentials Towlette

These always come in handy and I haven’t opened it yet so not sure how it is!

RRP 17.50 for pk/20

Qi Tea Detox & Ginkgo

I’m a huge tea drinker, but I’ve never really gotten into Green or other types of Herbal Tea. Will give this a try if I feel like I need some zen.

Soleo Sunscreen

This is an All Natural sunscreen, at the top of the pack it says “Knead me Before you use me”. I’ll give this a try but am not too sure about it. I don’t have a problem with sensitive skin so I find your normal day to day sunscreen is fine for me and I bet I would forget to knead this before I use it..

RRP 24.95 80gms

What did you think of this months bella box? I loved the bigger samples, but I do have a problem with single use sachets as It doesn’t really help determine how a product works for you as you don’t have too much of an opportunity to test them. I do however appreciate new brands being brought to my attention and I will certainly look out for some of these in the future!
